Masonry mesh is a mesh metal structure made by welding thin metal bars (2.5 to 5 mm in diameter). Such structures underlie the reinforcement technology, which is used by builders everywhere - during the construction of high-rise buildings, reinforced concrete structures and many other structures, a list of which is given in the article below. Reinforcement allows not only to increase the operational life of the building by increasing its service life for many decades, but also makes it possible to save pleasantly in the waste of building materials.
It will be possible to save money due to the fact that the mortar with which new layers of bricks or other blocks are covered is covered with a masonry mesh, due to which the mortar does not fall into the voids of the bricks. Also, the masonry mesh is universal, since its use is not limited only to construction objects - often the masonry metal mesh is used to strengthen riverbeds, or to create any design objects.
Before getting to the construction site, the masonry mesh goes through a path of three stages. A group of four employees is working on the production of metal masonry mesh - two operators and two welders.
• Multi-contact automatic line. This is the first stage in the production of masonry mesh. Here, the first operator loads the longitudinal bars into the machine, after which the second operator adds the transverse bars into an area called the “hopper”. From the "bunker" the transverse bars fall into the welding zone, where the panels are drawn to a given step, after which welding takes place. The whole process is controlled on a special remote control on the machine. Welding is carried out using a special “cascade welding” technology, which will be discussed below.
• Correct cutting machine. This machine consists of a coil holder, a main machine and a receiving ruler. A straightening-cutting machine and a multi-contact automatic line are used to give the mesh the desired shape and the desired mesh size by welding correctly.
• Polymer-powder line. At this stage, the mesh is painted in the desired shade, and also covered with a protective layer of zinc.
• Stock. This includes a completely ready-to-use masonry mesh, which will be packed in rolls and delivered to the buyer.
Please note: the anti-corrosion layer is applied to the masonry mesh by galvanic method. The essence of the technology lies in the fact that the rolls are placed in a special drum, where the roll is subjected to electrolysis. Due to this, the protective layer of zinc has a thickness of 8-9 microns.
The essence of the technology lies in the fact that the transformers are not turned on simultaneously, but in turn with a delay of a fraction of a second. This allows you to reduce the load on the machine, as well as reduce the load on the general electrical network, while this does not affect the quality of the product.
To calculate how much metal masonry mesh is needed to reinforce brick walls, you can use a special formula:
L * B * N = S (m2).
• L is the perimeter of all walls for which reinforcement with masonry mesh is required.
• B - the width of the walls, the perimeter of which was considered.
• N is the number of rows of bricks for which reinforcement is required.
The result is the value (in m2), which indicates how much masonry mesh is needed for the walls, the parameters of which are indicated in the formula. Important: it is worth taking a masonry mesh with a margin of 10-15%, since a small part of the mesh goes to provide “overlaps”. This item is mentioned in GOST, so it is not recommended to neglect it.
The range of use of the masonry mesh is really great, since people have found dozens of applications for such a seemingly simple device as a metal mesh. The main application is still the reinforcement of walls, reinforced concrete structures and objects of increased strength, reinforcement during floor screeding, construction of building foundations, use in road works, in the construction of bridges, masonry mesh is also used to reinforce heating mains, the production of cages and aviaries for animals, the production of nets for ventilation shafts. Also, the masonry mesh cannot be bypassed when carrying out plastering work - the plaster will simply crumble if you do not use the masonry mesh when laying. Masonry mesh is also used to stabilize walls in buildings, or for the production of fences and other building envelopes.
Wall buildings, which are designed for a long service life, are recommended to be reinforced. Reinforcement gives walls such characteristics as resistance to destruction, protection from moisture and long-term chemical exposure. Also, reinforcement helps prevent excessive deformation and reduces the consumption of mortar, as the masonry mesh prevents it from getting into the “pores” of the bricks. This makes masonry mesh one of the most important components of any construction site. Building a building without a masonry grid is the same as building a bathhouse without firewood - an absolutely meaningless occupation.
Masonry mesh has three main characteristics, which determine its strength, wear resistance and durability.
• Bar diameter. The larger the diameter of the mesh bars, the stronger the mesh and the greater the load per running meter. The standard diameter is 2.5mm, but there are others: 3mm, 4mm and 5mm.
• Grid cell size. The size of the grid cells also affects the strength of the whole structure. There are such cell sizes as: 50x50cm (standard size), 65x65cm, 100x100cm, 150x150cm and 200x200cm.
• Sheet size. Leaves come in different sizes. Popular formats: 0.38x2m, 0.5x2m, 1x2m (travel sheet size), 1x3m, 2x3m, 2x4m.
Masonry mesh, as mentioned, is one of the main components of any construction site. Here are the main advantages for which you should pay attention to the purchase of masonry mesh.
• High versatility. The masonry mesh is suitable for any construction site - both capital and private. Also, masonry mesh is recommended to be used in the construction of absolutely any building, whether it be a private house, office, warehouse, factory, etc.
• Efficiency. With the help of masonry mesh, the service life of the building is increased, as the reinforcement helps the walls to become much stronger and stronger. This makes it possible to postpone possible repairs on the back burner. If the walls with a thick layer of plaster are not reinforced with an armored belt made of masonry mesh, then the plaster will collapse after a while. Metal mesh armored belts are an extremely durable material that will help to endure even the most serious loads without fear of damage, breakage or deformation.
• Vibration suppression. Armopoyas perfectly suppresses vibrations, which also reduces the load on the walls and further reduces the likelihood of the plaster layer to deteriorate.
• An impressive choice. Absolutely everything - from the flower and the diameter of the bars to the size of the cells, you can choose specifically for your project. The managers of Arimcom-Ukraine will help you with this - we are always happy to help with the choice.
• Price. The masonry mesh has a minimum price, which makes its purchase almost mandatory. The price-quality ratio in this product is in the first place.
