Screw piles

Screw piles are metal supports that act on the principle of a screw. They are introduced into the soil under pressure according to the principle of a self-tapping screw.

Manual installation

It is carried out with the help of transitional heads with levers. The heads are fixed in the upper segment of the pile. The pressure on the levers helps secure the piles.

The head is shortened when immersed. Concreting begins upon completion of cutting the pile to the required length.

The difference between screw piles

The classification is made according to several factors: the method of manufacture and the area of \u200b\u200buse.

According to the manufacturing method, screw piles are divided into:

• Welded. They are made from several parts of metal of different composition. This increases resistance to stress and corrosion. The pile shaft is filled with concrete. Cheap pile option;
• Cast. Cast from steel. Durability is ensured by the absence of seams and gaps. They pass well through the roots and screw into any type of soil. They require less effort to install. Due to the cast central axis, they withstand a large load. They have a high price.

Design features

• Broad-bladed single-turn. They are used in low-rise construction. The piles look like a steel pipe with a sharp tip + one turn of the drill. Used in stable soil (sandy loam, clay, black soil);
• Broad-bladed two-turn. Designed for soils with low density and horizontal shear. They have blades in the center of the trunk and additional ones on the trailer. This increases the stability and bearing area of the pile in the ground;
• Narrow-blade multi-turn. Endowed with a steel barrel of small area (25% of the total length). Able to sink into hard ground or soil with the addition of stones, sandstone, limestone. They have a mixed design. The screw winding is cast, and the tip is welded;
• Narrow-blade tubular. They do not have a sharp end. The end element is an open pipe, which is filled with soil during installation. This creates additional support. Suitable for installation in frozen ground.
