Fencing plots for construction, protecting gardens from animals entering them, and simply delimiting land requires the use of materials intended for this. Once upon a time, a picket fence was used in this capacity, since it was considered the most adapted building material. Today, a wooden fence is no longer relevant, as it has become much more expensive, and therefore it has been replaced by a chain-link mesh, which today is present even in the form of roadside fences.
It is strong enough, since it is made of steel wire, and at the same time, its mass is relatively small, it can be rolled up and transported in this form over any distance. Twisted into a roll, it takes up very little space during storage or transportation. The chain-link is a material woven from metal (usually steel) wire, consisting of diamond-shaped or square cells.
Steel wire has high strength, but if the chain-link mesh is used, for example, to enclose a farm plot, then it must be understood that its metal base will not withstand the effects of precipitation (rain, snow or even dew) and will rust very soon. Therefore, before weaving a chain-link mesh out of it, a coating is applied to the wire, for example:
The most reliable and, accordingly, expensive coating is galvanization. A fence made of galvanized chain-link mesh can stand for 10 or more years without rusting. Of course, a roll of galvanized mesh will cost much more than a roll of painted chain-link, but, given the durability factor of both, there is nothing surprising in the fact that both for farms and just for gardens, Ukraine chooses galvanization, preferring it to inexpensive painted mesh chain-link.
A chain-link mesh with a polymer coating can also be quite durable, but if microcracks appear on the surface of this wicker product, it will rust through. This process will be especially rapid in the coastal regions of Ukraine, since humid sea air destroys a metal fence faster than ordinary rain or air somewhere on the banks of the Dnieper near Kiev.
However, both the Dnieper, and even more so Kyiv, are not very relevant when it comes to the fact that a wicker chain-link is needed to enclose farms. It is also used for the construction of road fences in the forest zone, because a roll of chain-link mesh is much cheaper than the same DFL, which blocks forests. In addition, DFL is something new and unusual, therefore, not trusting DFL too much, we prefer to buy a chain-link, which is more familiar to the residents of Dnepropetrovsk and Kyiv.
Considering that the cost of several rolls is quite small, since the price of one roll will also be inexpensive, this is virtually invisible among other farm costs. Thus, the farm budget can easily withstand several rolls of even a galvanized chain-link. Therefore, many seek to order this wicker product, since it is sold almost everywhere, including in cities such as: Dnepropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Lviv, Odessa.
Today, you can buy this inexpensive wicker fence everywhere. Since this fence, even if it is woven from the strongest wire, will not stand on its own, then some kind of support will be required for it. Usually a roadside pole serves as this, the size of which does not matter much, as long as it is strong enough.
